We enjoyed a room away from the busy main hotel. However, we still had access to the main hotel. We were able to enjoy a simple (and cheaper!) home made breakfast. Coca Chu, Beach House Restaurant (which we tried - excellent!) - easy walking distance. We picked up a community umbrella at Beach House when we were caught out in rain, but would have appreciated if there was one left at our room. Many would find the adjacent buggy park useful, too.

This was our second stay at the Palm Bungalows and again we had an excellent time. The bungalows are spacious and comfortable, with a nice private terrace. The bungalows are very close to the beach and all water sports. Only a 10 minute walk from the marina. Some excellent restaurants and bars on site.

Bungalows are quiet and private. Shower was excellent. Pool and beach were top rate. Staff was lackluster. Buggies are too expensive. Public shuttle was great but the stops are poorly designed for convenience. Cuca Chu restaurant was very good; make a reservation.

Honestly we were disappointed. The bungalows are worn down and dirty - and we tried 3 different ones because we got dropped at the wrong one at first. Then the second one we stayed at one night and the third one for 4 nights (after coming back from another island). All three bungalows were dark, dirty and just tired to look at. Spots and stains everywhere on the curtains, on the sofa (we didnt sit in it once), nighttables, mould on the fan and even stains on the tissue-container. The beds were not the same height and mattresses not very good. Shower pressure however was excellent and clean towels and beach towels everyday. Staff are very sweet and helpful and of course we know it is not their fault - but we did expect a higher standard from the bungalows especially at a price at $470 per night.

The room was clean and comfortable but I think a round dining table would have been a better arrangement than the sofa lounge next to the TV. Glass sliding doors were not clean. Everything else was very good.

The buffet was amazing with all the variety of dishes. The bungalow was spacious and in a great location however we were awoken numerous times at night by some Bush Stone-curlews screaming! I was not familiar with these birds that sound like a woman screaming until I heard them. Outside our bungalow we had a nice view of some wallabies and birds. I can’t wait to return to Hamilton Island however I would plan to stay in the Reef hotel where hopefully it would be a bit quieter from the screaming birds:)

They did a helpful helpful job taking the luggage from reception to the bungalow and booking me on an airport shuttle for my departong flight. It was also nice to see kangaroos nearby and they were great doing the cleaning.
