"We chose Pistoia as the base for a two-day visit to Florence. This plan worked great. Hosts Carlo and Lucia have a quirky compound located a short walk from the train station. We parked our rental car for the duration, and used the regional train service (frequent and cheap) to get to Florence. (Ask Carlo about his motorcycle collection.) While C & L don't speak English or French and we don't speak Italian, communication was no problem: beyond Google, they use the new generation of on-the-fly translation devices. Each morning, they laid on a nice spread for breakfast, so our mornings did not start hungry. Warm and personable couple, convenient location."

"The pool is nothing but for show. The water has no heater and no one else is there. The woman was rude and impossible. There was no heat and she refused to turn it on. It was the worst place I have ever stayed. When I asked for heat she told me to go somewhere else so I booked a hotel instead. She should not be renting anything and Shame on VRBO for not vetting these people. The road there was as dangerous as they come. Tiny lane for two way traffic and many sharp curves. AWFUL PLACE!!!!!!!"

"Our family of four had a wonderful time, and the views from all sides of the property are beautiful. The owners are very friendly and reachable. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the laundry facilities are great. This is the perfect choice for a quiet and relaxing Italian vacation. The air conditioning feature was one of the reasons to choose this property. However, when we got there, we were informed of an additional daily fee for its use. The information about the additional cost should be included in the property description."

"Grand hotel Cappuggi did not disappoint. I stayed with my 3 children for 10 nights end of june , start of july. Very reasonably priced 4* hotel experience haf by all. A little out of town (2 miles) but free shuttle bus (or taxi if not available) shows excellent customer care. Receptionists very helpful, cleaners nice and cheerful. Fabulous swimming pool essential in 38° temperatures. Football and tennis available. Ball provided keeping my boys well entertained. Thiroughly recommend this hotel as a point from where to explore Tuscany and further afield. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casina della Rose. Consuelo is a fantastic host, very friendly and responsive and not at all intrusive. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. It was unusually hot (high thirties every day) when we were there, and we were grateful to have the air conditioning and the pool. The drive up the hill to the house is not for the faint hearted and Consuelo kindly offered for us to call her from the bottom of the hill to check that no one else was on their way down.We definitely recommend stopping off at a supermarket on the way from the airport. Consuelo kindly sent us details for the big Esselunga supermarket just by the motorway exit in Pistoia. From there it is around 20-25 minutes to the house.Despite the hot weather, we enjoyed trips to Pistoia, Lucca, Florence and Montecantini."
