Solo overnight stay

Stayed here overnight after attending a funeral and didn’t want to drive the 3 hrs home immediately. I was traveling alone and felt very safe at The Swan The room was very pleasant with a nice river view and bed very comfy. I didn’t have an evening meal but had an extremely good cooked breakfast in the morning before driving home. Staff very friendly

Riverside find

For a 400 year old hotel the room was very well fitted out and comfortable with the bonus of sofa and two armchairs. Quiet despite town centre riverside location. Staff very helpful. Excellent evening meal of steak and chips and not overpriced. Good spot for exploring this area

Great stay. Great view of the river.

Lovely location great view of the river from our room. Room was lovely and clean. Hand wash and shower gel was provided and smelt lovely, good to see no single use little bottles. We arrived a little early but the room was ready so we were able to check in. We had dinner in the hotel and it was perfectly acceptable for pub grub. Outside seating area was really nice for an afternoon drink and lunch. Tasty breakfast, had the full English and there was plenty of it and freshly cooked.

Just falls short due to a couple of ’niggles’

Staff that we encountered seemed to give different information about breakfast. On enquiring about format we were told ‘ 9 ish’ no set price as we could select from menu, however on taking breakfast full English was only option. It was a good breakfast but had to chase staff for a cup, more tea/coffee, only gave 2 cubes of sugar ?? If you wanted an early start 9/9.30 is too late . Lovely room in a lovely location but again some small niggles. Had to provide our own shampoo/ shower gel, security door wasn’t secure (always open).

Fantastic overnight stay after a long drive

Absolutely gorgeous setting, staff very welcoming, food was reasonably priced and of great quality. Will definitely look to come back here again.

A lovely stopover next to the River Severn. Very welcoming hosts. Our room was very good and we had a very hearty breakfast. Additional request for preparing gluten free toast was warmly accommodated.

A lovely 400 year old hotel set in an absolutely idyllic location on the banks for the River Severn. The landlord and staff were lovely and always up for a bit of a chat. Great room with a really comfortable bed, a decent bath and shower. Food was good old pub fayre and it was very nice. We'd come back again anytime.

Nice little hotel right at the river front! Easy check-in/out, the room was small but spotless clean. Very quiet setting at a cul-de sac road. No noises during night, pub downstairs doesn't bother at all. Only parking is scarce, but available on the nearby roads. Would go back anytime!
