"The Lion Hotel is ideally situated to explore Shrewsbury on foot and you can leave your car on the property, pay at the desk rather than the machine for £5 per day. It is a property that is both historic and with character, having said that the communal areas looked very tired. The room was spacious with a high ceiling, brown furniture and bare floorboards which squeaked with every step so be aware if you are prone to waltzing in your sleep."

"The reception staf was helpful but not very polite. Room was nice but was cold in the morning as heating was switched off.. Id rather have no heating in the evening under the blanket then to wake up into a cold room. "

"Good communal area for children and staff were pleasant. However there was a very strong unpleasant smell thoughout the hotel and in the rooms. There was also large stains on the carpet in the hallways which were wet - we assume they had been recently cleaned. Breakfast was ok - however they had ran out off pastries when we attended at 9.30. Overall unlikely to stay again due to cleanliness/smell. "

"We had a lovely stay at the Barn. It was so peaceful and relaxing - with beautiful outlooks from every window. The master bedroom felt like that of a luxury 5 star hotel - very spacious with the most comfortable bed, a fantastic ensuite and views across the fields.We enjoyed lots of walks and the convenience of nearby towns. Karen was a wonderful host, very attentive and helpful - especially when we left a charger which she posted next day. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will certainly look to return."

"Temperature control on one of the ovens does not work.Perhaps the odd small saucepan would be appreciated!Otherwise, very clean, comfortable and very well equipped.Would be very happy to return."
