Old but comfortable hotel with easy access to halal food having a few restaurants around the corner.
Staff very helpful to accommodate our request even by asking from nearby establishment when don't have what we asked for. Location beside main road may get very noisy during daytime but very convenient to travel especially on train from main station.
Good value and location. Easy walk to downtown markets and sights. Cheap taxi ride to lakes and temples. Good restaurants and shops down the side street. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Surprisingly fast and stable wifi. Relatively quiet location for a big city. Connected 365 Cafe makes a good breakfast. Hotel desperately needs some sprucing up. New paint and carpet would be nice. Bathroom fixtures are quite worn, though clean and functional. In all, a good value if you're looking for an inexpensive hub to explore Yangon.
Belying the somewhat grim exterior, with a parking lot instead of a "front yard," the interior of this hotel retains an elegance of past times--wood-paneled broad hallways, tiled stairs, spacious and comfortably furnished rooms. Not a whiff of "pseudo-neo-colonial" or "international hotel modern." The small staff was genuinely friendly and helpful, remembering us by face and room number. The parking lot was actually very handy for securing taxis on the spot, and many restaurants were within easy reach by taxi or on foot. The location was great for walking around the old center city, from the Shwedagon to the riverfront.
