Powder cleaner residue was still in the tub, towels looked dirty but smelled clean. Room and hotel seems to have tons of potential to be very esthetic and quant with more up keep. Staff was super friendly and pleasant but over all seems to be a decent hotel for the town.

Normally I do not stay in Motels… BUT this was a nice little motel with friendly check-in and service! Our event was in Shiner, TX…just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again…

Weekend Pool & Grill Escape

Meeting a friend from across Texas. We had a decent meal at Central Station Bar & Grill just minutes away. Took in a movie at the Grand. Spent the next day at the Black Gold. Pool is clean . We grilled steaks poolside on the charcoal grill. Staff made sure our room was close to the pool for this. The free hot breakfast was not awesome: Biscuits only1 morning, and no gravy. The place is clean, well maintained, and comfortable.The price, even on a holiday weekend was exceptional. The staff friendly and eager to help. We would come back.

Black Gold is the nicest place to stay in Yoakum. The staff is very friendly. However, I’ve stayed here 2 times in last 7 months and both times the floors were dirty. Visible shoe tracks everywhere, so don’t walk around barefoot. Bring your own towels because theirs are thin and old. Also, the coffee in the lobby comes out of a machine and once you see it, you will not drink it.

EZ and friendly check in. Room was hot AC was off we turned it on. Went to bed. My allergies and my GF allergies acted up bad!! Towels in bathroom guess were for decoration? They didn’t seem to dry you. Checkout was quick. About 20 after we left our allergies went away.

Ownership step up!

The staff was friendly and fabulous! That said, the owner obviously skimps on conveniences and repairs, including those involving safety. I spoke with numerous guests and none of us received caffeinated coffee in our rooms; the owner shouldn’t make the decision to only provide decaf—it was a cheap decision to be made. A broken hairdryer had no screen and wouldn’t stay in the holder; dangerous as hair can get caught and catch on fire and it could also fall in the sink. The pool (not that I used it) was an off green and certainly needs to be checked by the health department to increase chemicals for algae. The saddest part, the lobby had no air, I felt awful for the staff having to work I. Such hot conditions, especially when they were so friendly and helpful. Ownership needs to step up and make repairs!
