Really nice stay, we booked 2 rooms and they were adjoining which was good, hotel lobby and bar are very nice spaces to be and the breakfast whilst a little expensive was excellent with loads of choice and good quality food, would definitely stay here again.

Visit to Barbican, hotel.

Lovely hotel, great location for centre of York & Barbican. Parking £17, but is secure. Hotel staff are lovely, so us the food in the bar.

We was checked in early which was appreciated. However we had booked a superior room with a queen bed only to realise a short time later that the room we had actually been put in was two singles pushed together. Slightly disappointing and an inconvenience to have to raise this with staff and be told this is normal for the room we had booked. We was then offered another room and moved but it was frustrating to have to pack our stuff and move everything having already unpacked.

I've stayed at the York Novotel several times over the past few years. On the whole the hotel would rate excellent. The only reason i rate it down is the rock hard bed, but that is my preference. We had a meal in the hotel one night of the stay, the menu is somewhat limited but the food and service were excellent. The bed doesn't stop me returning. The hotel is very well situated for the cty centre.
