Two living rooms give the group room to spread out. -Outdoor Amenities-
Lace up early and walk to the Black Rock Canyon trailheads, then come back to the swim-style hot tub under its pergola. It fits groups of ten for a soak and doubles as an endless pool, so someone can swim laps while the rest of the group warms up. In the warm months, the galvanized 10-foot cowboy tub sits out among the Joshua trees for a cool dip; it is not an in-ground pool and is closed November through March.
Under the covered porch, string lights hang over a long wood dining table and the ping pong table, with Giant Jenga, cornhole and badminton for the yard and yoga mats for a morning stretch. Fire up the propane BBQ for dinner, then circle the red Adirondack chairs around the propane fire pit or settle into a hammock as the yard lights come on and the stars fill in.
-Living Area-
The main living room centers on a giant two-story stone wood-burning fireplace and opens to the formal dining room, with giant windows bringing in light and views. Build a fire after the hike, pull a mustard swivel chair close and let the conversation run. The second living room has a large smart TV, teal swivel chairs and a pellet stove, and opens to a dining nook and the kitchen, the easy spot for a movie. Board games and books are on hand, and an upstairs balcony looks out to the mountains.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The fully stocked kitchen has navy cabinets, butcher-block counters, a mosaic tile backsplash and an island with stools, plus the cookware for group meals and spices, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Grind fresh beans at the coffee station, with a drip coffee maker, a French press, Joshua Tree Coffee Company whole bean coffee, sugars and creamer, and take your cup to the round table by the patio doors. Bigger meals move to the formal dining room beneath its sputnik light, or out to the porch table.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
The primary bedroom has a king bed with a teal tufted headboard, a vaulted window, a smart TV and an ensuite bathroom with a hex-tile shower, a double vanity and a black freestanding soaking tub, made for a long bath after the trail. Three more bedrooms upstairs each have a queen bed and share a bathroom down the hall. The fifth bedroom, downstairs, has a twin daybed with a pull-out twin trundle, and there is a half bathroom downstairs as well.
