"I had high expectations for the Grand Hyatt Xi'an, but unfortunately our stay did not live up to its five-star reputation. The hotel itself is beautiful and impressive in size, but that's where the "grand" experience ended for us. We booked two rooms, and the air conditioning in one of them did not work. We reported the problem, but it was never fixed during our stay. Our late-night check-in was disappointing. The front desk agent did not explain the hotel amenities, breakfast, or lounge access, and did not tell us about the security deposit. Instead, my credit card was charged for the full amount of both rooms again, even though the stay had already been prepaid, creating unnecessary confusion. The Executive Lounge was also underwhelming, with a very limited food and beverage selection that did not meet the standards I expect from a Grand Hyatt. For a luxury hotel, service should be exceptional, but it simply wasn't. While the building is attractive and the rooms are spacious, the overall guest experience did not justify the price or the five-star rating. There are better values in Xi'an, and based on our experience, I would choose another hotel on my next visit."

"I purposely chose this place as a closer hotel location rather than staying near the bell tower to be closer distance drive to the terracotta warriors and it was the best hotel I booked through my whole stay in China. Robin was my concierge who provided great communication throughout my stay there. He helped arrange transportation pick up from train station to hotel and back. During my stay he also provided recommendations around the hotel. The breakfast buffet was delicious and hotel was clean. The red room which I had hotel room at thanks to Expedia was super exclusive to included happy hour that the tapas style food and drinks left us full."

"Our room at the Sofitel was huge! With a great big comfortable bed, our own sitting area and dressing room, we were very impressed when we arrived. Ethan at the concierge really made our stay, helping us with our bags, our first DiDi and generally making us feel welcome and safe. The lovely man who we think was a Manager took us across to the ATM and assisted us, we were very grateful to him. Breakfast was delicious and the pool a godsend, we would not hesitate to recommend the Sofitel and will definitely stay there again."
