"This was a wonderful property! The owner/manager met us when we arrived. He was very professional and friendly. Parking was great. The room was perfect: clean and fully stocked with supplies. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with a wide selection of choices. I would definitely stay here again!"

The choice of freshly cooked breakfasts was very good, and then in the evenings we ate in the restaurant which had a wide selection of food on two different menus. One menu was classic Pub food and the other was Indian, with dishes specially created by an award winning chef. "Staff were so lovely from arrival and allowed us to check in slightly early which was appreciated. The hotel is modern, clean and the rooms are spacious and very well maintained. I've stayed at this hotel a few times now and it's great value for money. This would easily be a 5star if it had a pool and a spa. We have stayed at the Bear over half a dozen times in the past 20 years We had some concerns after our last visit at the end of April but were pleased to see improvements in most areas from the welcome to staffing in the bar.
