"We made a reservation to stay at this motel at Expedia without a problem. When we got there it was almost completely empty with no one at the lobby (in Expedia said they had a 24/7 hr service at the lobby). We called at the number that was posted at the door and a girl answered us saying that they didn’t had any rooms available"

"It is a journey to get here from TX, but it was exactly what we needed. Fresh air, nature, and wildlife abound. We awoke to chipmunks chasing each other and then off to the Great Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls. It ate up a whole day with hiking and sand. We came back at sunset and saw 2 elk and 20 deer. It was such a great experience."

I missed sunrise by a few hours this day, but the was still there early enough to catch some interesting blues on the shaded side of the peak. Though not one of Colorado's 58 Peaks over 14,000 feet, West Spanish Peak enjoys a great deal of prominence from its surroundings, making the 13,631 foot mountain the 12th most prominent in Colorado. It is also the easternmost 4000 meter peak in the United States. Here you can also get a good view of one of the over 500 radiating dikes that lead to the mountain. #BVSquad #BVSBlue
