"Beautiful place, very relaxing and quirky. Owner is so lovely and sociable. Stayed in Bluebelle which was a great experience . Bluebelle is solar powered, unfortunately with the lack of sunshine in Scotland we didn’t have light however the owner provided us with plenty candles and was very hospitable. Only small thing was the wooden slates at mattress are covered in fluff and hair, more attention is needed to clean the nooks and crannies However apart from that what a wonderful stay! :)"

"The Murray Arms requires updating and some investment. The decor is as it was when my in-laws were growing up in Gatehouse in the 50s, the menu is also stuck in this time vortex. Our family room was clean and basic. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi and the TV did not work. I have a feeling this is a common problem but no one is willing to spend the money to fix it. We had our evening meal in the 'refurbished' dining area with its damp ceiling and musty smell. The quality of food was poor and overpriced....
