"I was able to book a room, check in, and check out without talking to another person. I was fine with that, but some people may want more of a personal touch. The room was clean. However, the room smelled like sewer for most of the night, only fading when we took a shower. The refrigerator in the room did not work, spoiling our leftovers. It was quiet, most likely because the hotel was fairly empty. The breakfast in the morning was included but not good. Pancakes made by a robot, did not taste right. Eggs and sausage were fine, same with the cereal. Coffee and pastries were bad. Serviceable as a place to stop off to go to sleep but I would not recommend as a place to stay for multiple nights. It is about a 7 minute drive to Mount Rushmore which was convenient, and there are lots of quotes from Teddy Roosevelt for you to enjoy. 2/5 stars"

"We didn’t end up staying here. When I booked I saw it was pet friendly ?2 have 2 chino) when we got There the motel is remodeled and they don’t accept dogs but service animals. So we cancelled room and had to find one last minute. Thank goodness rapid city is big enough and lots of motels."
