"Great hotel for a great price. Unpretentious, comfortable, clean and a good breath. Near all amenities but quiet. A ten minute stroll through the shopping streets to the sea , close to restaurants, pubs etc. I have stayed in many hotels in Sidmouth over the years, from five stars to none and Mount Pleasant is a good two star which we will certainly plan to use again. "Let down by small things! I'd stay at the Old Ship again. Switched room mid-stay at venue's request, but I was okay with that. Comfortable beds and great linen. Both rooms were freshly painted and had been thoughtfully decorated.. However, neither bathroom had a shelf - awkward - and one room had only an overhead light.
