"We stopped for one night, the hotel was fine but quite basic, our room was very small and a little dated, plus the bed quite hard. However, all the staff were very friendly and despite having little English (and us having little French) we warmly welcomed. Our room and the public areas were very clean and despite what other reviews have said, the area felt quite safe. The hotel is well located, a short walk to restaurants and bars, very near the railway station but also quiet at night."

"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The hotel is part of a very large restaurant with good food and good service. "Everything was lovely. The bathroom was a little old and didn’t have a shower curtain so the floor got very wet. But it was a lovely stay. The room also had a bit of an overpowering smell of artificial cherry’s/berries which is fine. But just a little over powering with an artificial smell. But the room was very clean and if I was in the area I would stay here again! "
