"We stayed only one night but I really think this is a place you would want to spend a couple of days to get maximum benefit from everything on offer. Only issue was the soap dispenser in the shower ran out of soap while I was in the shower (last one of three to use it) other than that enjoyable stay."
"The room smells like curry. The floors were sticky. The bathroom mat was already wet. The toilet smells like urine. The shower had mold. The room door was difficult to lock and unlock. The door was so bad that we couldn't lock it over night which felt unsafe. Then in the morning the door lock fell to pieces."
"Extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
Our family checked in late at night and discovered multiple pet hairs/fur all over the bed. This was particularly concerning as we were travelling with young children who have very sensitive skin and can react to pet fur.
Unfortunately, we only discovered the problem after we had already showered and settled in. We immediately contacted the property owner and Expedia to report the issue, but no one from the property contacted us or made any attempt to...
"We stayed here last year and booked again well ahead of time and were given a room on the noisy side and up on the top floor and the lift only goes to the first floor, it's got more run down since our last stay, no knob on toilet cistern, no teaspoons, no plug for hand basin and kitchen very rough "
"The entire booking through Expedia online was a scam. There is NO Lake Haven Suites in Taupo. I demand a full refund. The address given on the confirmation email is that of Cobb & Co. There is a Lake Haven Apartments, but they don't take bookings through Expedia and they had no record of a booking in my name. SCAM"
"Great first time experience staying in a hostel only problem is if you are staying out of town for a sports event be prepared for a team to possibly be staying at the same accom and it is by chance things can be a little noisey and kitchen and lounge may be a bit crowded"
"The room didn’t look the greatest but the bathroom was sparkling clean and the fun atmosphere of the place was very nice. Overall I think it was great value."
"Tokaanu public hot pools just a short walk away, plus the Lodge has its own hot pools. Turangi a very short drive away with supermarket and plenty of restaurants. Conveniently placed to visit Tongariro National Park. The manager was very understanding when we cut short our stay due to poor weather and only charged us for the days we were there. The room was clean and well fitted out, if a little dated in style."
"Friendly hosgt couldn't have been more accommodating. Clean, tidy room, relatively quiet for a hostel-type place. Would recommend for those seeking a good room at a bargain price."
