Location was sublime--15 mins walk to Poetto beach, 5 mins walk to a grocery store, lots of great restaurants and cafes nearby, plus near many bus stations as well. "The stay at Xenia was great. Very clean room, comfortable bed and possibility to have super warm water in the shower. Breakfast was a buffet but because of covid there was no self service. "This stay was made by Antonio, who in spite of our non existent Italian provided all of the information we needed for an amazing visit to Villasimius! Hotel is in a central but quiet location with immaculate accommodations, a lovely terrace, amazing welcome from Antonio and Barbara, and excellent recommendations for hiking! "The location of the property was perfect. A nice walk to the port and into town. Beautiful beaches all walkable and a fort. The bar was closed the entire time and there was no breakfast provided. However when queried a refund of €5 per day per person was given. The shower tan cold and often overflowed from the shower tray. The room was basic with no kettle but was clean and comfortable. "

It seems the hotel is slowly improving its rooms but we unfortuately had a hill view room which was disgusting.It should not be given out to paying guests. Mouldy bathroom,loose wires from extractor fan,lingering smokers smell(smoke alarm covered by a shower cap!) and soiled sheets. We had booked for 5 nights but after arriving late and a very uncomfortable night fully clothed we checked out at first opportunity. Breakfast seemed adequate but didn't have the stomach for it. They did not honour their cancellation policy and didn't have the courtesy to even respond to an email. As we found, there are plenty of wonderful, good value rooms available in Cagliari which offer so much more for a lot less. If you book a sea view room it may be different but soiled sheets reflect poor housekeeping at the very least. Would not recommend."
