"Enjoyed our stay at Penmere. The staff were very friendly and helpful - shout out for Jamie! Spacious, comfortable room, powerful shower, clean. Good choice on breakfast buffet that was continuously replenished. Food ordered from breakfast menu was slow to come out. Would certainly stay again."

I read the description of the hotel which said parking available (for a fee) but on arrival found it was a nearby council carpark. I took my old soft top car and was disappointed to leave it overnight outside and vulnerable. It would have been helpful if the car park arrangement was clearer "

"Maybe a little rough round the edges but at 160 years old this is forgivable. A grand seaside hotel that reminds you what hotels used to be like. Good service, good manners, and a little bit of old fashioned class."

"Great hotel! All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. There was plenty of breakfast food, full English or a continental option. You could have both and go back for more, self-service. The evening meals were excellent. Compliments to the chef. One, two or three courses at a reasonable fair price. Nicely presented, with quick service. Parking was £8 for 24 hours.
