"We had a short stay in the off season with very kind staff. I think we were some of the only guests, but everything was in working order for our use."

We only stayed here one night, was a last minute getaway. The place was exactly what we needed and wanted after a stressful week. We really liked the quiet time when they turn all the lights out and you can relax in the pool and enjoy the stars. We had a few well made alcoholic beverages and the food from the restaurant was delicious.

Daniella and staff made the stay very enjoyable. From check-in cocktails, to breakfast burritos, to having the chef prepare our fresh caught fish for dinner- everything was amazing!!

Had another great stay at Las Terrazas - nice, big rooms that are very comfortable, appreciate the air conditioning and the cable TV so we can watch football games while traveling. Run by a very friendly and accommodating family - and delicious food at the restaurant, still the best shrimp-stuff chile rellenos I've had anywhere! Can't wait to come back.

Leeann was a fantastic host. She is super laid back and easygoing. She had great recommendations for dinner and sightseeing. Our room was comfy and it was nice to have a small fridge and coffee maker in the room. Her property is amazing and in a good location. The rooftop deck was perfect for sunset watching with wine and cheese. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Leeann even accommodated our dietary restriction. She's running a licenced business, and we would definitely return.

We stayed at Hotel Alcatraz for 2 weeks in August while seeing one of us through a major surgery. From our arrival at La Paz airport (owner Maru picked us up) to our departure, we were treated to excellent care. Maru and her staff made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable and safe (during COVID), including providing wonderful meals cooked to order and regular room cleaning. Our special needs for a recovering patient were met with compassion, flexibility and generosity.

This hotel is great if you are looking to spend a few days exploring La Paz and the surrounding area. It is walking distance from the Malecon where you can find much of the dining and night life of La Paz and just one block from Oxxo and Pemex for easy access to convinces and gas. If you have a car it is extremely easy to get to Balandra and Tecolote beaches. The included breakfast is also a great perk, and make sure to wake up early enough to get the bread of the day.

Wonderful experience, property is located in a convenient area. The owner was great ! Our flight was cancelled because bad weather due to the hurricane, and he made it very easy to extend our stay and let us know he was there to support us in anything we might need.

I would absolutely recommend casa 1880 to anybody staying in La Paz. It was the perfect boutique hotel that had the best combination of a small and proper bed and breakfast and a very fancy luxury hotel. Ari and his staff are par excellence and went above and beyond, from great recommendations, to packing delicious picnic lunches for us on days we went on excursions, to just being so absolutely welcoming. This place is located very remotely at the end of a barely driveable one-lane dirt road, one hour from the nearest city (La Paz). It is truly in the middle of nowhere. Great for hiking, nature walks in the desert, horseback riding, snorkeling, fishing, and being alone on the beach. Nearest shopping is an hour away, except for a small gift shop at the resort. Built in 1948 and supposedly the first resort hotel in Baja California. Price is relatively high considering the facilities, but includes...
