"Located right on the harbour, and with a harbour view room was special. The pub itself is very busy, so book dinner if you wish to dine there. Dinner food was great and also the breakfast. There was some Pub noise outside on a Sat night, but not too late. Parking in free council carpark, or street if lucky was easy. Walk to Donnottar Castle out and back from village was excellent. 7 km return. You can also drive to Castle parking lot. Stonehaven was a lovely place to stay."

Everything was exceptionally good, except the articesque blast of wind that greeeted us in the carpark. The quality shown through from the staff to the food and the accommodation. Highly recommended. "Sheila and Mick were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were great, the room was simple but clean and perfect for a single traveler. I dropped my wallet outside the car and 2 people got it inside to Mick for safekeeping! I hope to be back next year!"

"Absolutely loved this quirky castle. The owners was so friendly and welcoming. Very knowledgeable about the castles history and did a personal tour which I loved. His love for the property showed so much in this tour. Breakfast was delicious and left nothing to ask for. Would stay here again. No complaints. "
