The carpet inside the lift was worn, the dining room ceiling was patched up; in my room the tiles surrounding the bath needed re grouting, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling away in the corners and the furniture in my bedroom was shabby and required revarnishing and the paintwork in my room needed touching up and the window frames needed cleaning. "We stayed as a group of friends for the one night only on a motorcycling tour of Cornwall. The Pub was tired and obviously a locals pub. The room was off the courtyard and again was very tired and would not have wanted to stay in winter as I would imagine it would be very cold. The shower worked well. There was a kettle and coffee but we decided against drinking coffee as the inside of the kettle was very old and covered in black scale! It served the purpose but would not stay there again"

"Lovely Easter break! The 'Owl' room was ideal for the four of us, as has bunks for the kids & a fabulous super-king bed. Superb Breakfasts & Sunday roast served by hosts Dave, Jackie & their team. 5 min drive from St Ives, didn't cause us an issue. This is quite a remote spot so would need a car as not much within walking distance. Excellent base for touring the extreme 'Pointy end' "
