"As an older property and with all the difficulties to maintain such a property I feel it has been taken care of very well , it's charming and welcoming, clean a comfortable and the food is great. We loved our 3 nights and hope to return in the future."

"The hotel is in an old building with a lot of character. Our room was spacious and clean. Food in the restaurant available on the dinner menu was reasonably priced and of good quality. Parking was easy with plenty of parking spaces available. The only downside is that the furniture, carpets, room doors, wallpaper etc. date back to late seventies/early eighties. Hence a refurbishment of rooms would be a good idea. "

Något saker jag dock irriterade mig på var bland annat duschväggen; löjligt kort och gör ändå att det kommer vatten på golvet utanför samt att golvet i själva duschutrymmet är såphal plast. "The reception staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. I left my phone charger at home and they lent me one for the weekend. The room was a single and clean, although the decor was dated (the description did say it was a Victorian building). I had breakfast both mornings at The Galley Restaurant which was an all you can eat. The food was hot and fresh and had everything you would expect for a buffet restaurant. "Booked this hotel as the rest of our large group were staying at The Ivy Bush Hotel opposite, where they had been recommended. We were not disappointed, the hotel was beautifully decorated and everywhere spotlessly clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was scrummy. Our friends at The Ivy Bush were extremely disappointed with their accommodation and evening meal and next time will book the Spilman Hotel. Would definitely recommend 😊"

"Good bed, good sized shower, good breeze through the window. The breakfast hours are too early nd too short, and you apparently have to reserve a table for dinner, but they do room service and it was quick and delicious. They desperately need WiFi extenders."
