"The hotel is beautifully designed and maintained. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The location was quite a shock as the hotel is situated in a 2 km stretch of restaurants, souvenir shops, and noisy clubs across from the beach. We would have preferred a quaint setting in the Old Town."

Rethynmo centre is not far from hotel, you can find bus outside hotel (Euro 1.20). You can find excursion/travel agency outside hotel (buses will pick you from outside of hotel) if you don't have car."

Fresh towels and bed linen mid week, unprompted texts suggesting places to visit, offers of help when I was unwell, daily bin emptying and toilet roll replenishment and offers of coffee whenever at the pool area. Local restaurants superb and reasonably priced. Warm sea to swim in. Pool area clean and plenty of sun-beds. Loads of free parking. I would stay here again."

Rethymnon is a great town, where the old town blends with the new, offering something for everyone and a great choice of reasonably priced restaurants. The Ideon is perfectly located on the sea front near the Venetian harbour on the outskirts of the old town. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated to a high standard. We had a room on the first floor with sea views and a small Juliet balcony. My only criticism would be that the balcony...

"Ive stayed at countless hotels for work and nothing compares to here. From start to finish there was not one issue, got upgraded to a suite, stunning room immaculate views amazing location, breakfast was incredible and the staff had character and charm. I'll happily book this place when I next come to rethymno. What I will say though is if you get a room with a hot tub turn it on before you leave for dinner it takes about 3 hours to heat up. me and my partner left it till really late and didn't...

"This was our 6th trip here, so obviously there is a lot to love. Three times as a couple, this was 3rd with two younger generations. Staff are lovely - although there is a risk of wine recommendations becoming a sales pitch. There are lots more hotel-organised trips available than before. This can provide comfort and confidence to new visitors but you can save money if you choose to arrange them yourself. Pool area is beautifully kept and clean. "We had a 2 night stay as part of our 2 week holiday in another part of Crete. We absolutely loved it. The room and facilitates were really good. Very comfortable beds. Fantastic view from our room big balcony with chairs. Great pool and sun longers, swing seats in lovely grounds. The owners were lovely people and should be so proud of their achievements. Included breakfast was good sitting on the communal balcony enjoying the view. We had dinner one night and were very impressed 15 euros...

"Amazing hotel, located next to the beach (just need to cross the road). Very friendly staff and attentive. One evening there were rain and they offered us umbrella and there was other small details to make our stay better. We had a room with sea view. Room was clean, had fridge and electric stove, so you can warm your food. Also they had plates and cutlery. There is no parking next to the hotel, but we find a space just in 2 minutes walk. City centre is in walking distance. "
