"We had a very short 1 night stay here on our way back from the Outer Hebrides, just to break up our journey home. The hotel was lovely, the bedroom was clean and comfortable, the bathroom looked newly refreshed and the view from our room was stunning. The resident's lounge was huge, as was the breakfast dining area. The breakfast was buffet style but was more than adequate. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. "

It was exactly as portrayed: an historic (and idiosyncratic) small inn/hotel; not fancy, very straightforward; on the water in a wonderful location; a great kitchen punching way above its weight. "Beautiful location (waterfront), extremely friendly and helpful staff, close to lots of walkable dining options,…. Only con was that there were very few close parking spaces. One night we ended up parking in a pay to park lot about 5-10 minutes walk away. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Still would recommend this hotel if staying in Portree."

"We loved the place. Would stay there again in a heartbeat if back this way again. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Those meals were great too. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant. The only issue we had was a cold shower that never did warm up at all. Presumably a maintenance issue that will be corrected in short order. "

"We loved our stay here. The picture window looking over the water was beautiful. The cabin was wonderfully simple and yet held all we needed. I had tried to book it for 4 nights but it was only available for 2 when we were there. I would have gladly booked it for all 4 and if we ever return to Skye we will definitely look ahead of time to book all our nights here again. Loved its eco friendliness as well! "

"This was my first time staying in a hostel. It was very well set up. Easy to check in. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the facility. Our room was a bit noisy due to being beside the bathroom but they have rules to keep things quiet during night time hours. We just needed an area to sleep so we did not make use of the other parts of the facility but it looked very well maintained and the shared kitchen area looked very well organized. "The Kinloch Ainort Apartments were a joy - so peaceful with the sheep grazing and the quiet of the area. The apartments appear to be brand new. They are spacious and have everything you will need for a great stay. The beds were comfy and the shower was hot! We traveled to Broadford (15 minutes or so away) to get groceries at the CoOp. We also enjoyed a really good pizza at Cafetesia there. After visiting busy Portree on our trip around the Isle we are glad we chose a quieter place! "
