"Hotel was fine for a one night stay with good breakfast. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable, though rather small and I found it rather stuffy at night (though an electric fan was available in the room). Hotel is fairly central, convenient if arriving at Colchester Town Station and for town centre. It's not luxury but reasonable value for what I paid. Staff seemed quite welcoming too. "

"All public areas clean and tidy, decor olde worlde with beautiful chandeliers. Bedrooms clean and tidy although need updating. Ideal to walk down to town and beach front, lovely quiet area"

"Its a very small quaint fishing village. We were there on a sunday to catch the ferry so most things were closed "

"Check in was friendly and efficient even though a large group was arriving for a function. Room was clean and pleasant with a sea view ( a nice bonus ) and a decent size . Arriving back late in the evening staff were attentive , good humoured and helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and of generous proportions , once again with good natured and helpful staff. A very pleasant experience and one I look forward to repeating next time I'm in Clacton - Well Done"

"Stayed here for a family event with my extended family. The room was spotless if a little dated. The bathroom was also exceptionally clean and the shower worked well. It does need a little investment, the furniture and furnishings are tired. Breakfast was good if limited in choice. All the team were pleasant. If you're looking for a comfortable, unflashy stay this hotel perfect."
