"Now, THIS is a hotel. Unlike my last stay (at the Moxie in downtown NYC) the Strand does not skimp on the amenities. The room was spacious and fully equipped, the bed comfortable, the service excellent. The location across the river is both extremely close to the heart of Limerick while not being stuck in the middle of it. I would not recommend eating at The River (the in-hotel restaurant) though. My meals were mediocre at best. But that's my only quibble. "

More suited for one night stays to catch a flight or tourist buses visiting Clare. Breakfast buffet needs improvement. Good parking. Walkable to a few spots in Shannon. Not suited for long stays. "

"Beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious with two chairs and a desk. My only complaint was there were three of us and they left towels and water for two. They quickly brought another set of towels and water when asked. Easy access to places in Limerick. "

"Very nice stay for the area. The hotel itself you can tell is old, but has been recently renovated, particularly in the lobby. The dinner at the Brasserie was good but the service was slow, and no attendant was at the reception for the first few minutes when we arrived. Otherwise, it was a good place to rest your head for a night."

"Our room was beautiful! And the grounds were lovely. We went on a walk on an adjacent river walk, which was so beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was very nice as well. We drive to a restaurant (Finnegans) which was 8 minutes drive and we really loved that as well. "

Reduced fee for parking 24 hours but be aware that if you take the car in and out during those 24 hours, you'll be charged the hourly rate until your ticket is validated! Very quiet in the room, even with the window open slightly and hearing the traffic; definitely didn't disturb us!"
