I contacted VRBO and they assured me this was not an appropriate fee and the owners should refund it to me immediately. Never saw that refund, used as leverage as it was a 0% refund cancellation policy. Basement was listed as finished but had roughed in carpet, creating tripping hazards everywhere. "This property was advertised on a hotel booking site, with hotel pricing and hotel taxes and fees, so was expecting maybe a bottle of water or a coffee pod to give it the hotel feel. I was required to take out the trash prior to departure - shouldn’t be my job as the guest."
