"This is really something to be experienced. It is new (2023) and massive - hundreds and hundreds of guests. It is a spa, first and foremost. The rooms are huge, quiet, and elegant; the numerous staff are efficient and multi-lingual. Hot springs in the building, hundreds of guests strolling about in hotel yukata, views of the peaks and ocean. The optional meals are definitely recommended - the food is fantastic and also it is a long hike to get down the mountain. Partner likened it to a luxury...

"Large old style hotel. Impressive foyer. Checkin was fast and professional. Free parking is available to hotel guests which made it convenient. Room was clean and good size. Its a good 10minute walk to Oita Station. "

"We stayed at the Japanese style house and it was amazing! It was huge and perfect for a family. It also has private indoor and outdoor onsen included in the accommodation just for us. The meals included were great as well, we had teppanyaki for dinner and Japanese breakfast. The accommodation is also close to the Hell's onsen attraction which is just minutes walk away so it's perfect for my parents. The only thing was the outdoor onsen was slightly too hot for us as you cannot adjust the water...

The view was great and had everything you could ask for. I really enjoyed the senbei and haori jacket- great for photo opportunity. I did not dine at the hotel but had some great whiskey at the bar. The bartenders were excellent- wish I got their name to give them credit. Breakfast buffet was excellent...
