"Lovely stay. Room very comfortable. Staff lovely. Only gripe we had was the 12.5% service charge that was added to our restaurant bill. We asked for it to be taken off and it was. However the system of adding a service charge automatically is one of my pet hates. It added over £6 to our bill. Had it not been added with the assumption we would pay it we would have left a tip. Awful practice."

"This was my fifth stay at the Palace Hotel, I also go to Buxton Opera House to see a show. We booked dinner and breakfast at the hotel.Check in was great, very pleasant receptionist.Our evening meal last night was lovely, great service from a pleasant waitress and the meal was very tasty! I had a good night's sleep in room 301,it has has a new bathroom suite with a lovely shower, I had no noise disturbances from other guests going into their rooms. Self service breakfast was great! "I have stayed here many times and its always been clean and comfortable and the staff always friendly. However this time they went above and beyond. My son won an award at his football presentation and the staff at the hotel upgraded us to a bigger room and gave him a free drink and a snack. The barman also gave me a free drink too. I am always impressed with the staff here and this is the reason we keep coming back. Thank you to everyone who made his night even more special! "

"Fantastic place to stay We went as a family with children 11 and 14 who enjoyed the pool after a long day at Alton Towers The only down fall or negative point would be the toilet roll in the rooms were awful and cheap that needs looking into. Otherwise a fantastic stay and I’ll be staying again sometime. "

"The main selling point of this hotel is obviously the outdoor pool. Yes, its freezing so expect that! Its a lovely area surrounded by grass and some chairs. The inside of the hotel is nice but some areas are showing their age. All in all a nice stay "

"Breakfast was excellent, very comfortable bed, pool facilities were nice, quiet and clean, the shower in the room fluctuated in temperature and there were limited vegan options at the resturant (would love to see simple tomato pasta on the menu) but otherwise an excellent stay"
