This hotel was wonderful !! The property is gorgeous and the beach is stunning! The hotel is very well kept, super clean, and well organized. The restaurants are great. Breakfast buffet was great options and quality and dinner options were amazing. Cocktails are the best! Properly made not just syrup. The pools were clean and actually heated. My kids loved playing. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

Very comfortable hotel with beautiful manicured grounds. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast buffet was superb. Only problem was a lack of local restaurants in easy walking distance, encouraging visitors to visit the resort restaurants which were mediocre and expensive.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this 5-star resort! It is the type of place I look forward to returning to. Super safe and peaceful property with trustworthy employees. this is the 5th time that we stayed at Vilalara...this says something. We come here for the fantastic Thalasso spa and its great staff (multi lingual and so friendly), the most beautiful settings, the most unique gardens, the six pools, the direct access to their wonderful beach and also the location (easy to to reach). The hotel is gorgeous!! The beach is incredible and the staff is very nice and accomodating. My only complaint is we came for three nights and we were not able to get reservations for any restaurant for dinner. The restaurants seem amazing but are open to people outside the hotel. Perhaps this part needs to be improved and managed a bit more..

Nice property. Great rooms. Beautiful view, if you get a beach/water view room. We had reserved a non-water view. Asked for upgrade at check in. Got the upgrade but had to pay more money, thought that was a perk with Expedia VIP, but wasn't. Nice bar area with good views and decent food. The upscale restaurant was good, but pricy. No restaurants next to hotels for food options. 15 Min walk or very short drive is the local village was is very tourist oriented and has lots of restaurants.

Location was fabulous! The marina is beautiful and lots of places to eat and shop!

Pine Cliffs was incredible. The resort is stunning. We got engaged there, which was the highlight of our trip. The resort is close to nearby towns, hiking trails and attractions in Algarve. What a wonderful quiet hidden resort on top of the beautiful cliffs of the Algarve region in Portugal. We took the train from Lisbon to Tunes, where the resort arranged a taxi to pick us up. Its about a 20-30 minute drive to the resort. Wear your seat belt, taxi drivers do not drive slow. I rarely give an excellent rating for a hotel experince. But Sao Rafael Suites was above and beyond the other hotels I have stayed. The staff is friendly and they go out of their way to answer or help you. Added bonus is live performance every night when we were there. Sao Rafael Beach is beautiful and is not a far walk. And there's always food available anytime.
