My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the end of June and it was spectacular. The food, service, activities, spa, and grounds exceeded our expectations. We were a part of the first group of rafters allowed into (and out of) the lodge following the torrential rains and at no time did we feel unsafe. The only thing I didn't like was the restaurant. We ordered two lobster dinners and were served shrimp. When we stole the waitress that we ordered lobster and got shrimp, she looked at our plates and said, "no, that is lobster." I said no it is not and so did my grandson. Very nice location one must know not to use Google if driving to this hotel on their own contact the hotel for proper directions or else you’ll end up in a coffee plantation this place is beautiful the owner was very nice and the food was good

The location was beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again. While we had some problems at checkout (they couldn't run a credit card because the staff at the desk "didn't know how"-- we had to pay in cash). I'm assuming this was an anomaly, as the rest of our stay was very enjoyable. Rooms are large and clean, although not air-conditioned, which was fine. Excellent food and caring staff. Can't beat the location and view.

Excellent colonial-style building with incredible natural surroundings, but the hotel looks neglected. The room was nice and spacious, but the bathroom smelled awful, like a sewer. I had to buy bleach and use it, but it didn't get rid of the smell. There was a leak in the sink and mold between the tiles and under the sink. Very great food and kind staff. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the town which is very nice. Being at this hotel makes you feel like like you’re in a little resort.

This is our second time at Chetica. Each room has a unique, themed design. We have stayed in Seville and this time in “Big Bear” which reminds you of a mountain cabin. The rooms have big bathrooms and a kitchenette with a coffeemaker and coffee provided. The breakfast is delicious. You are in the hills with fresh air and beautiful gardens. Loved the attention we received from it’s staff Sofie, Chef Nayomi, Ivana and Cooper. The room was lovely and very comfortable bed. Cooper was very helpful with the transportation. Not happy about not knowing the travel time was not included in the description. It takes 3-4 hrs from airport then 1 hour boat ride to get to the hotel. Even though it’s all inclusive they didn’t serve alcoholic beverages only wine. Would have loved some mojitos, piba colado or margaritas. Also no tv in the room.

Amazing stay. Would return again. The breakfast was awesome and so were all the staff.
