I wanted to introduce a guest of mine to Michigan. The Crooked River Lodge was the perfect place to do this.
Situated on the Crooked River, the Lodge had nearby trails, a great indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as a roaring fire in the fireplace and an outdoor fire pit as well.
Very comfortable with nearby restaurants serving fresh perch and whitefish from Lake Michigan. I would definitely return for another visit.

This place was amazing! The attention to detail at this place is immaculate! The hotel keeps it’s history and charm with the old feel, but is a modern hotel with everything you would need. We had an issue with our room that they were unable to fix at the time, so they gave us a new, nicer room without hesitation. The breakfast ambiance was relaxing and made you feel special. Coffee and water was refilled consistently. Food was great, views were great, outside patio was beautiful and peaceful....

Upon arriving we were pleasantly greeted by the frint desk staff with friendly faces. Bridge was the kindest and most welcoming front desk agent my wife and I have ever met. She asked us where we were coming from and how our journey was. We explained we came from Gaylord, MI which was/is nearly entirely out of any power. She expressed her heartfelt care and concern for all of us affected by this terrible ice storm. She explained where everything was, who to call/talk to if we needed anything and...

We have known about Stafford's Bay View Inn from our trips "up north" over the 30 years but never stayed there. That was our mistake before but never again.
The staff was friendly, charming and very accommodating. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The view of the bay was delightful and allowed us to enjoy the sunset and sunrise. We stayed in a single room just behind the beach suites. The room was comfortable, clean and attractive with nice fluffy towels. It was convenient parking right at our door. The beach was wonderful with benches to sit on for a relaxing view of the beautiful harbor. You can walk to town or drive and visit the nice shops. In the area, there is a nice park across Betsie Lake with a great playscape for kids. Had a great time despite some bad weather visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. ...

This is a unique and very nice property. They have a ton of extras on property. The rooms are nice but as a small suggestion, some type of counters pace or top in the bathroom would be helpful and there's room. Also a reconfiguring of the shower . It would be great for a large group traveling together with everything they have to offer. The location is also great.
