"Really relaxing hotel. Perfect for a break. Check in staff extremely helpful and accommodating as I had booked two nights separately and ensured I was placed in the same room for both nights. "Cannot fault this lovely hotel. Just wanted to comment, to be patient with food order. We arrived at 7.30pm, staff where clearly busy, there was also a wedding in the venue. We where not served our starters until 9pm and deserts till after 10pm with a young family this was obviously not ideal. I must comment all food (apart from veggie option) was very good."

"The staff were terrific but clearly short staffed and overworked. Not their fault—and the staff on the front desk were marvellous if you could get their attention, but it was apparent that they are short staffed. Let me begin by saying we live kids—we’ve had four and they have kids now. But this place was 24 hours of kids out of control—from the bedroom hallways to the bar and lobby…yelling, running—one twelve year old slapped the heck out if her father at the bar. Distracting, disruptive, rude—and their families did not care. So, go outside, turn left and walk into the street pubs and shops. Nice but whopping expensive for what you get (even with the exchange). The hotel as a physical structure us good—staff are great but understaffed and overworked. Hopefully you’ll be there on a night without tons if kids. And also: taxi and uber drivers were terrific!!"

"I stayed at Preston House last week. Hotels.com didn't send me the details on email as was outlined in the booking. I contacted the owner who was extremely helpful and gave me an upgrade and sent on all the details straight away. The house itself is beautiful and my room was spacious and comfortable and a really lovely place to stay. The owner checked in with me to make sure I got checked in ok and again the following day to make sure I had no problems with my stay. I work in Laois multiple times a year so I will definitely be staying here again."

"Staff were very helpful, our room was clean, the double bed however had broken springs right across the bed the problem was reported and the mattress was turned which was slightly better. Our stay was really lovely."

"Huge comfortable room with lovely view of fields near by. Fabulous comfort decor & breakfast. Very good swimming pool & leisure facilities. We loved it ."
