"Great location on the river bank. The facilities felt outdated but still fairly well maintained. Room was large and had a nice view of the Bandai bridge. Got a cold on Sado island but I had a really nice sleep back to Niigata and felt completely recharged. Super kind and attentive staff. Parking is a bit pricy at the hotel but I had no problems finding plenty of parking lots nearby. "

"We decided to walk to the hotel from Niigata Station, not realizing it was about to rain. It was a downpour by the time we got to the lobby, but one of the staff saw us coming and met us with dry towels at the door! It was so thoughtful! And that was just the start of great service. We loved our stay and will definitely come again!"

The hotel’s only small downside is that it is slightly isolated - very convenient to the convention center next door, but not much else. I would absolutely stay here again if visiting Niigata. "

"Highly recommend the Hotel Sunroute Niigata. It is convenient to the train station with many bars, parking options and restaurants nearby. Google translate the street parking lots if you don't use the hotel garage. Some have deals with the hotel where you pay a lower rate for overnight parking. I had great service from the hotel staff who helped me with figuring that out and saving a lot of money. We really enjoyed our visit to Niigata and Hotel Sunroute was the right place for us! "

"Stayed for 2 nights. I understand the property will be going through renovations from Jan-Mar 2025 so it hopefully addresses some of the dated elements. Staff were really friendly. The public bath (Onsen) was nice. The mattress the hardest in all the Japan hotels we stayed at. The area is close to the Train station and it’s leas than 5 mins to tons of restaurants. "
