"Over all it was a very nice place. It was cozy and the air conditioner in the living room was very nice. I don't know if this is the right place to put this or not, but only place I've seen for complaints so far. Just had a few complaints, 1. There was no slip resistance in the showers. 2. Mr. Cool remote holder on the wall, the screws were to small and the holder fell off the wall. 3. Freezer in the kitchen leaking water under the door. 4. The shower upstairs leaks water under the door. 5. There was a trash can on main porch next to BBQ grill that had trash in it. (We took care of it so we wouldn't get the blame.)"
"If you are looking for quiet, water, and a peaceful experience, this house is for you. Even though there are other houses leading into this location, you never hear nor see them. However, go prepared with all your food as the Adirondacks do not have much amenities.

"My cousins and I very much enjoyed our 2nd stay at the Matteson’s rental cabin. It’s the perfect home base for a trip to Old Forge. It has everything you need - comfy beds, a nice bathroom with shower, kitchen with fridge, microwave, and regular coffee maker, and a fire pit. We were grateful for the air conditioning too. Bridget is a kind and responsive host. We hope to come back ASAP! :)"

"The Independence Lodge lived up to expectations. It was perfect for our 3-generation family of 8 and dogs for our summer vacation. Nestled in the woods, yet very accessible to main roads, the lodge allowed for trips to hiking trails, horseback riding, eating out. During time at the lodge, teens and parents ventured into the water. Everyone enjoyed corn hole, campfires, the swing near the river, the glider on the deck, the rocking chairs, the well-equipped kitchen, the spacious common living areas, the beautifully maintained property, and the cleanliness of the lodge. The Independence Lodge was just what we hoped it would be. "
