"Modern, spacious rooms and bathroom. Finally a hotel that has a heated bathroom mirror so NO FOGGING when you get out of the shower. Nespresso and water in rooms. Comfy mattress and pillows. Fantastic Omani coffee and dates in the lobby. Well equipped gym and expansive pool area with direct access to the beach. Wonderful but expensive breakfast. Hotel is 10 min walk to Opera House but you’ll need a taxi to visit other sites."
voco Muscat Al Mouj by IHG

"We booked voco Muscat Al Mouj for a one-night transit stay after landing late at night, opting for a value-for-money option before moving to our primary luxury hotel. Initial impressions were great. Check-in at 11 PM was smooth, and the front desk staff were welcoming enough to offer a room upgrade. The lobby was very modern, clean, and stylish, and the location was super convenient - just a short drive from the airport. Unfortunately, what should have been a flawless budget stay turned into complete frustration the next morning. We used the hotel’s free underground valet service upon arrival. When checking out, the valet team informed us the rental car wouldn't start. Upon checking, I discovered the valet staff had left the car lights on overnight, completely draining the battery. This mistake derailed our entire morning schedule and stalled our first day in Muscat while staff scrambled for a solution. I ultimately had to instruct them on how to jump-start the car using cables. The sheer incompetence of the valet team on a basic task was hugely disappointing and ruined what was otherwise a good experience. In fact, it left such a bad taste that it made us anxious to trust valet services for the rest of our holiday. If you stay here, the rooms and lobby are great for an airport stay, but I strongly advise self-parking your car."

"Our stay unfortunately began with a terrible check-in experience - two of our assigned rooms were infested with bugs. Given the luxury reputation of the Mandarin Oriental brand, this left a massive sour taste in our mouths. To their credit, management handled it as expected, promptly offering alternative rooms so we could settle in. Once resolved, our stay genuinely got much better... Concierge: absolute standouts! Exceptionally friendly and guided us through Muscat with fantastic local insights. Rooms: spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed with the perfect balance of modern luxury and chic Omani touches. Spa & Lobby: the hotel lobby is stunning, and the spa lived up to the Mandarin's legendary service - flawless execution. Location: ideal for excursions and only 10–15 minutes from key city center attractions. Dining & Gym: the breakfast buffet was a standard 5-star spread, and the gym was a bit underwhelming/missing some standard equipment, but fine for a quick workout. Despite the initial hygiene lapse at check-in, the overall hardware, spa, location, and outstanding concierge service turned our trip around. I would still recommend it over other top Muscat luxury options."

"With Sheraton a wonderful is always guaranteed. We had fantastic six days. The staff, was by far, the best part of it. Everyone was kind, helpful and always with a smile. Our daughter enjoying talking with them. The pool is awesome, breakfast was fresh and varied and the room is big and well maintained."
