"Nice, clean hotel, easy parking and great staff. It’s an older hotel but the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Bathroom counter very small. Tough for all our toiletries. No fan in the bathroom so had to leave the door open to clear the mirror. No other mirror in the room so no other spot to do makeup, contacts etc. We could hear traffic but it wasn’t terrible. On the other hand the location was very handy."

"I was originally dismayed after a non refundable booking then digesting all the negative reviews. My teenage daughter and I stayed for a night this past week. The room was $150 LESS than any other available option! We in fact had 2 clean double beds, a window that opened with a fresh breeze from the Alberni Inlet, a 3/4 size fridge and microwave for our backpacking supplies, morning coffee and a plentiful supply of clean towels and soaps and shampoo. The room also had a somewhat noisy air conditioner but a little bit of white noise was ok for my lite snoring and any neighbors arriving late. Easy parking and basically $150 extra to spend at Alberni brewing which has terrific food and beers. Yes it’s not the Fairmont but for a cheap stay on your way to Tofino or an early hike to Della Falls(US!) this was just fine!!"

"My husband and I thought the hotel itself was a great little place to stay. The rooms are extremely clean and amenities were great. We did use the outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna. Had breakfast in the café next morning, which was excellent. Also having an upscale coffee machine that made lattes, cappuccino, etc., was awesome.!! As we were travelling from Campbell River and going to Bamfield it was a nice break. We will definitely be returning!!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Riverside Resort in Qualicum Beach. It is very family-friendly, and our detached one-bedroom cottage was comfortable and private. We especially enjoyed the firepit, barbecue, and outdoor dining area. The mini golf was a lot of fun, and the outdoor pool and waterslide were a big hit with the kids. It’s a great place for a relaxing family getaway!"

"We stayed here for a family trip with 6 adults, 2 kids, and 2 babies, and it was the perfect place for our group! It was spacious, had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and was clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus and everyone enjoyed them.The only hiccup was that the host didn't let us know until about 20 minutes before our scheduled 4:00 p.m. check-in that there had been a mix-up with the cleaners, so the property wasn't ready until 6:30 p.m. Thankfully, they made it right by allowing us a late checkout.Overall, we had a wonderful stay, would absolutely recommend this property, and would happily come back!"

Charming Cabin on Sproat Lake Hottub /Romantic getaway for Couples

"The view and the quietness were excellent, check-in/check-out was easy. We are an older couple with minor mobility issues and found the property quite steep to navigate. There were no closets for hanging clothes or chest of drawers and basically had to live out of the suitcase for the week. I know that it was a small cabin but for the price we paid a little more thought should have gone into the layout of the space. The shower was not private from the rest of the space and although not an issue for us it might be for others. The hot tub was excellent and suitable for two. Overall a nice stay but maybe not suitable for folks with mobility issues."
