"The biggest advantage of this property is its excellent location—just steps from the beach and right along the main drive, with restaurants, shops, and two small grocery stores conveniently around the corner. The apartment appears recently renovated and has comfortable beds. Air conditioning in each room was a major plus, especially in warmer weather. Linens and towels were clean, and rooftop access was a nice bonus since the unit itself has no views beyond neighboring buildings. One challenge is that the entrance is down a short alley with no nearby parking, which makes loading and unloading luggage difficult. Guests should also note the apartment is minimally stocked. There was only one set of towels per guest for the stay and no basic supplies such as hand soap, shampoo, paper towels, laundry detergent, or extra trash bags. The nearby grocery stores help, but it’s something to plan ahead for. The biggest drawback was the hot water capacity. The water heater does not support multiple consecutive showers—difficult even for two people and likely very challenging for a family of four."

"Beautiful resort with breathtaking view from the room. Wide spread of breakfast and 3 restaurants + Skybar for plenty of food. Azure bar will need to improve its service time. Otherwise location is perfect for hiking, and the city center is just 10 min walk with many restaurants. Highly recommended."

"The breakfast buffet was excellent and served in a large room. Our room was clean, balcony nice size. Outdoor Pool (not heated) was nice with ample loungers. Most staff attentive and helpful. We would like to single out two staff members (Gisela and Romulo) who provided outstanding service. Thank you. "

"Algar Seco was WONDERFUL! We lamented that our stay was too short. It was well equipped with everything that we needed. Groceries stores, restaurants, Atlantic Ocean...all in walking distance. It was peaceful. The staff couldn't be more warm and welcoming. This is definitely a place to return to."

"The resort has an amazing look, particularly the outdoor areas, but the lack of maintenance is concerning. Staff were really friendly and always at hand. The outdoor pool was clean and the water was kept in proper condition, but the bridges were closed as they are falling apart. The room looked amazing, but again lack of maintenance was a negative factor. One toilet leaking water, one bathroom smelling like sewer and the bedroom walls hid a lot of damage behind the wallpaper. This could be seen in other areas of the hotel - Turkish bath out of order, hydrotub broken. Sauna, indoor pool and gym were all fine. "

"Location was lovely, you definitely need a couple of days here. We came in at night and left at checkout (11am). Didn’t get to enjoy any ammenities. The beach at the bottom of the cliff is lovely. "

"It was advertized online as being on the beach. This is not so! We had to walk 5 minutes which is not a big deal But to advertize it as being on the beach is inaccurate. Also it was very cold in the unit. It just had a few little heaters that was unable to heat the place. We expressed concern and they gave us another plug in heater. The place itself was nice and large with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms This unit is not for people with mobility issues . There are a lot of stairs up and down. Also there was nothi.g in the kitchen. Not even any dishsoap (basic necessity) Also no shampoo or body wash. "

"The place was far from any decent grocery store, they gave us a room for someone who is in a wheelchair, the bathroom was also meant for someone in a wheelchair, terrible to assume this suited our needs."
