"Likes The staff were lovely. They were very accommodating and provided all the requests made. The breakfast was very tasty, and my partner was recommending it to our friends (which is a big thing). The room size was good. It's spacious (however, the shower room was a little snug). The room looked exactly like the photos, so that is a plus. We had dinner at the pub with our friends, everyone enjoyed their meal and I really liked the live band. We were singing the songs. Not so great There was no air conditioning (we stayed during a heatwave), which was very concerning for me. I would like to add that the staff provided me a fan, which I really appreciated The room was tidy. But I am a neat feak, so seeing spiderwebs wasn't ideal. Overall, I would recommend the place. I really liked the water feature near the car park. "

"Really warm welcome when we arrived. A very chilled vibe. The reception went out of their way to help us find a parking space. Breakfast was exceptional and the view from the room was great! The reception and breakfast staff were brilliant."

"The tree inn is a beautiful 13th century house in a lovely part of bude . Very clean inside and out. The host Simon is a friendly guy who will go the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect. Would definitely recommend. 10/10 "

"The Royal Hotel was excellent and we would certainly recommend staying there. The food was very good at dinner & snack lunch. Breakfast was fine for us and we would have liked a better fruit collection. More brochures of surrounding places to visit would be helpful. "

"I have not stayed here for years and was surprised to see that its still a Brend Hotel ( family hotel). I went for breakfast and it was a traditional waiter service breakfast eg you are shown to a table, another waiter takes your order, you choose the items you want and its freshly cooked ( no food sitting under a heated light)"

"I found The Royal & Fortescue to be a lovely comfortable place to stay in the centre of Barnstaple very close to all amenities including the bus station which was so handy for getting to other near by attractions. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. We had a really nice relaxing stay and if in Barnstaple again would be more than happy to stay again."
