"NO TATTOOS. Is the first sign you see when checking in. Perhaps if you have a small discrete tattoo, they will still permit you to use their hot-baths on site. Ideal for couples, seniors, less so for families with children. The beds were quite hard. The in-room food service was very good, as was the breakfast buffet. Both indoor and outdoor onsen was very nice, with the outdoor one having a nice view of Gifu Castle. "

"A great room for a good price. It is a ryokan so expect a traditional Japanese straw floor room, however it was a much larger room than I expected. The service was great and the owner speaks very good English so communication was easy. Communal bathing (not mixed!) was a nice experience and clean area.
