"This was our first visit to Greece, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We began our 2 week vacation with 3 days in Athens, and we’ll be spending one more day at the end of our trip since we’re flying in/out of Athens. We booked this trip/the hotels last minute, so many accommodations were already taken. We wanted to stay in Plaka but nearly everything was taken, so we booked the Athens gate hotel, which I think technically is in a neighborhood called Makriyanni but is on the border of Plaka. The location was absolutely awesome and we were probably happier with it than if we had stayed in downtown Plaka. It’s somewhat on a main road, so cab pick ups and drop offs are super easy and no need to roll suitcases over cobblestones. The restaurants in Makriyanni were super charming, and we were essentially a 2 minute walk to Plaka and like a 10-15 minute walk to Monastiraki. Plaka is so congested with people and cars it can be a little overwhelming and Monastiraki felt less safe to us, so the Athens gate hotel offered us the best of both worlds: easy access to places we wanted to explore while offering a little more space and quiet for at night when we wanted to decompress. We had a beautiful view of Hadrian’s Arch from our balcony and of the acropolis from the hotel roof restaurant (which had incredible food by the way). We actually cancelled our second Athens hotel for the end of our trip and rebooked with this hotel because we loved it so much. Definitely recommend!"

"Fantastic hotel in the center of Athens close to hotel. Rooftop bar and restaurant offered best view of Acropolis including hosting the Acropolis webcam. Food delicious and wait staff very attentive. Christos, our sommelier very knowledgeable and helped us plan visits to several wineries."

"Breakfast was amazing! Lots of Greek food with American food with fresh grind Coffee as well. Bus stop to go to the Acropolis and the market is right in front of the hotel. Roof top pool closes early, at 7:00, it is clean and deep and the temperature was refreshing enough considering the heat wave"

"Overall great hotel, excellent reception staff, and beautiful location and pool. We had the all inclusive package and where it was a little lacking was in the snacks by the pool very limited choice, or sometimes none there. Our room was lovely with adequate complimentary things such as dental kit, shaving kit, sawing kit, bath wash cloth, i personally would’ve found cotton pads and ear cotton buds a more useful addition. Additionally, the AC in our room was dripping water and the swing wasn't working so we had to switch it off to avoid hearing dripping at night. These were overall minor issues though and our overall stay was very enjoyable, I would recommend it to friends and family."
