"We felt like we were staying a ryokan for locals - not tourists - we were the only westerners in the hotel. Only the front desk personnel spoke any English. The spa was large. The food was great - but was served in the restaurant rather in your room. (Unlike the Kyoto ryokans in which we have stayed.) And we had twin beds instead of futons.
