The General Palmer Hotel

"It was a beautiful, old hotel full of history. Our room was very large, with a comfy bed and nicely decorated with an outside the bathroom vanity which is essential when husband and wife are trying to get dressed and out the door to go explore the cute town of Durango. The balcony with chairs outside the second story was a nice place to drink coffee or bring togo dinner and watch the sunset or the railroad train come by. Loved the afternoon warm cookies and the coffee and tea table available all day. I will defiantly be staying here again. It did include a nice hotel style breakfast which was a nice touch"

"I have stayed here a few times and it’s a good place. I am confused however about their checkin process. I was sent a text asking to put in info prior to my stay but upon arrival I had to stand in line waiting for a large party check in 1 by 1 and my wait was 20+ min. After a long drive, I was tired and this process was a lot. The rooms are well maintained but the shower needs re-caulking as it looks dirty"

"This is a lovely historic hotel in the ideal location in downtown Durango. The two taverns with live music had good food and drinks but we mostly enjoyed the music. The whole hotel has such an elegant decor. We loved our stay and would recommend this hotel."

"Room was clean. Carpet needs replacing. There were carpet tacks felt along the edge between living & kitchen areas. Bedding was comfortable. Spacious room & bath. Staff were mostly friendly & helpful. At one point I needed clothes detergent for the washer & hotel was out. Staff stated none would arrive for 3 days. Breakfast was good with multiple choices. Very good location & quiet facilities. Yes, would stay here again."
