Villa Sassa

"We spent 3 nights in a really large nice apartment suite with a balcony. We were next to the pool but it was quiet with a nice view of the lake and Monte Bre. The hotel overall is a bit tired and in need of fresh paint, but the grounds were very clean. We loved the pool for a cool break from the heat and crowds of Lugano. Its a trek to find restaurants, even with the bus stop. We found good dinners 12-15 minutes uphill or downhill and skipped dinner the last night. The staff were very friendly and attentive."

"Absolutely perfect location, right on the lake. What a view! Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Nice clean modern hotel room in a classic building. It's an easy walk to the park, the boats, the train. Lots of nice restaurants right there. The room was large...bath had a tub AND a separate shower. And the balcony made us feel like we were royalty...sitting up high, looking at the lake, sipping wine, being in the thick of things yet in our own space. Wow! Not gonna forget this one!"

"I arrived later in evening by motorcycle and took me a bit of time to work out I needed to login on line in the car park, but once I worked this out, the online system to open the various doors worked very well. New experience not having anyone about to help but once I muddled through it ( I ’m 60) it worked surprisingly well. Most impressed. Breakfast in morning was great and pullout drawings with glass tops to see food contents was a nice design touch."
