"This is a fabulous property. Gwen is amazing. I’ve been staying at this hotel for over 20 years as my wife’s family lives less than 10m away. The hotel includes free parking, an amazing all you can eat breakfast (free if Marriott Platinum) and amazing staff. (Did I mention Gwen?). They are so helpful and providing you anything you need during your stay. For the price, it’s the best hotel in the north Manchester area. IMHO. "

"I stay away a lot for work and have seen it all from roll top baths in the bedroom to hundreds of condom wrappers under the bed (afterwards finding out the room was hourly rented 🤔😳) but this place is good for the money, was super toasty when I got there and was fully acceptable for my purposes. I’d just say to people you get what you pay for and if you cheapskate it then slate places for their quality it’s pretty much stupidity. I’d stay here again without question as I haven’t paid for Buckingham palace at the end of the day. Great parking and friendly staff."

"This was my third stay at the Ascott and I will keep coming back whenever I visit my family in Manchester. As an American I very much appreciate the things that make it different from the big hotel chains. It is quiet, it is personal, it is comfortable and to me “very British” which is a good thing. The rooms are all different in style and decor. They are comfortable tho and have all the features and amenities described. The overall feel of the hotel is that of a large comfortable home, not the cookie cutter institutional style of hotel chains. Breakfast is available and served in either a sunny breakfast nook or a larger sitting room. There are several menu choices but I always have the English Breakfast - which is tasty and a satisfying way to start the day. The inn keeper and his team are friendly and welcoming. A few things to keep in mind. Pay attention to the check in hours- it’s a small inn so make sure you check in during the hours noted. Once you have your keys you can come and go as you please. There is off street parking but don’t hog the space - be respectful of the guests who will need to squeeze in after you. If you do want breakfast, reserve it when you make your room reservation - they plan and purchase accordingly so have little flexibility for last minute changes. If you are planning to have a noisy gathering during your stay, you should look elsewhere - this is a place for a quiet rest to prepare for a busy day!"
