The room was clean but I knew when everyone in the hotel went to the bathroom. It sounded like it was raining. Also, I had an interior room that had a window that opened up onto a very narrow open area which I could smell cigarettes from my fellow guests who would blow their smoke out the window. Breakfast began at 7 AM and was pretty good with the usual assortment of breakfast food, including eggs of some kind and pork of some kind.

Very welcoming, we were able to check in at 1am with a very tired infant without problem. Delicious breakfasts and fantastic front desk staff. Would highly recommend, and is in a great area of the city

Comfort, location and quantity!

Beautiful hotel with a stunning view of the Acropolis! The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is in the heart of many restaurants and shopping! I’m so glad we chose the Carolina!

No frills 3* hotel in great location. We had a small double room with en-suite. Facilities basic but very clean. Decent size bed. Aircon (slightly noisy but guess just not used to it - didn’t need it much anyway at end of May). Free toiletries and coffee making etc in room, fresh towels daily. Small balcony with table and two chairs overlooking the street. Buffet breakfast had wide selection available. All staff very friendly. Excellent central location for exploring all areas of old Athens and main tourist destinations. Metro about 6 minutes walk. We tended to shut the balcony window at night to keep out the street noise, although that varied. Would be very happy to stay again.

The hotel is at a very convenient location in the city center. Close to both Syntagma and Monastiraki squares with lots of excitement. Walk to lots of attractions, such as Acropolis and Ancient Agora. Lots of restaurants closed by even after midnight. The staff are very friendly. 24 hour front desk service makes me feel at ease. Breakfast is nice with good variety. The only drawback is close to a bar with lots of excitement until after midnight. However, I slept well anyway. Enjoy my stay very much.

Hotel between 2 convenient metro stops. Very little space to put clothes if you want to unpack. No dresser drawers, just a shelf. And incredibly noisy all day and late into night! But maybe that is just Athens! View of Acropolis from balcony was nice but you had to put up with loud motorcycles and music if sitting out there. Breakfast is included - lots of choices, both hot and cold. Staff is knowledgeable about transportation options and directions.

Staff were wonderful except for one instance. Breakfast is awesome…. I don’t like to waste food but had an early tour and did not have enough time to finish plate…. I wrapped up a few small slices of salami and cheese (2 each ) so it would not get wasted. Staff embarrassed me by acting like I was stealing food. It was mortifying. There are cameras watching you as you eat breakfast.

I loved the place and would stay there again. Here is what you should know. Rooms are small and bathrooms are small. So if you are planning to spend time in the room or you’re a big guy, it may not be for you. Other than that, breakfast is great with so much variety. Front desk staff are great, knowledgeable, and are extremely helpful. The room we had was clean, AC works, and gets cleaned everyday. You are close to everything and 2 metro stations, roughly 5 mins walk. I would highly recommend. It’s a very nice hotel in an area with very expensive hotels. Price is great compared to others around. So something has to give and it’s the room and bathroom size.
