I am very disappointed with my stay. When I arrived, I was given a freshly painted room with such a strong paint smell that I couldn’t breathe. After being moved, the shower in the second room didn’t work. On top of that, the lights were out for two days. My husband and I own businesses and needed a place to work, but after being told to use the coffee shop, none of the outlets worked. When I asked for help charging my phone, I was met with an attitude instead of assistance. For the past three days, the hotel has seemed to prioritize school groups over other guests. The loud and disruptive students made it impossible to relax or enjoy the pool. I also spent nearly three hours trying to get an answer about a late checkout, only to be told it wasn’t available. When I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor, I was handed a comments form instead. Over 500 drunk teenagers daily. Overall, this stay has been unacceptable, and I believe compensation is warranted for the numerous inconveniences and poor customer service.

I believe that people should address issues directly whenever possible instead of immediately turning to the internet. However, I was in a foreign country with my wife and children, so I felt it was important to remain respectful and avoid escalating situations. There are two main reasons I am writing this review. First, I witnessed what I considered to be highly unprofessional behavior between another guest and the front desk staff. A disagreement escalated into a shouting match, and during the exchange, a front desk employee made the following comment: "If I were in your country (the United States) as a Mexican and shouted like this, I would have been pinned to the ground, arrested, and then deported." Regardless of the circumstances, comments like this are inappropriate, unnecessary, and should never be made by hotel staff to a guest. Second, our stay was significantly impacted by an unresolved maintenance issue. We booked a one-bedroom suite with a washer and dryer because we intentionally packed light, planning to do laundry during our stay. Unfortunately, the washer did not work from the very first day. On Day 2, maintenance came to our room three separate times. On Day 4, the washer was replaced, but the new unit still did not work. On Day 5, they replaced it again with another washer that had the controls labeled in Spanish, but it still failed t

I have said at a few different RIU's in Cabo and Cancun. I hate to say this was not one of the better ones. Very old, the rooms were old. The elevator was terrible. Always waiting sometimes over 10 minute wait Took the stairs one tiime along with several other quest. Location going down the beach was rocky had no place to sit near the water. The ocean was after all the huge rocks. Other resorts down the beach were beautiful and clean. The Riu in Cabo was so much better.
