As soon as we walked through the door, we knew we made the right choice. The restaurant/bar area was beautiful and cozy. The hotel staff was welcoming. Our room was nicely decorated, and the bay window view of the sea was gorgeous. I will stay at the Avoca any time that I return to Newcastle.

The Rostrevor Inn is perfectly located in the middle of town and near Kilborney Park. We were sad the restaurant was closed the night we were there, but the room (we got the Narnia room!) was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious and filling. The best part was the wonderful friendly bartender who checked us in, though. We loved Rostrevor and would happily stay here again.

What a wonderful stop on our trip! The property was beautiful and Edele and Alessio were so attentive to our needs. We had a seven course tasting menu and breakfast prepared by Sonia Russell and Louise Hynes. The food at both meals was so delicious and there was so much attention to detail. One dish, the pea and mint soup, brought tears to my wife’s eyes. The house and rooms were beautifully decorated and we were very comfortable. We cannot say enough about The Blackwell House. Just a lovely spot, 5 minutes driving from town and the shore in Newcastle, 15 or so to some great hiking trails. Grounds are very nice and there’s a gentle climb down to the river, a beautiful spot on the patio to sit out for a drink or morning coffee — and the breakfast was excellent as well (I had to go for the Ulster Fry (similar to the Full English) both mornings. Wish we could have stayed longer, but hope to go back. Seems to be a holiday spot for the Irish and those from the UK, not...

I stayed in Newcastle for three nights and was incredibly fortunate to choose Drummer Lodge. The location, surrounding environment, and the room’s facilities can only be described as excellent and delightful—absolutely fantastic! The hostess, Fiona, and her husband, Perry, are both extremely friendly and warm, making you feel right at home in no time.
At dawn, the chirping birds under the giant Scottish pine trees gently wake you from a restful night’s sleep, as the distant mountains emerge from...

When you’re traveling Ireland with children (ours are teenage boys) you need a place to get the energy out before starting a long drive to the south. This hotel provides clean amenities, kind staff, well appointed rooms for families and a pool. This was the perfect stop for us before heading south.

Well communicated contactless check in, beautiful property and rooms, cute little town, and the breakfast was good! Coffee was great, Charlie makes a great flat white! Parking can be a little bit of a nuisance, and like many historical properties no elevator so if you need help with your luggage plan ahead as the property is not always staffed. Lovely. Also Forrest Park is not to far down the road if you would like a lovely walk around the lake. the Parson's Nose is quite good as a dinner option...

We stayed in the Vintage Room at the Lisnacurran Guest House. It was a gorgeous room, very tastefully decorated with antiques. The bed itself had a fantastic headboard with wonderful woodwork. This room had it own separate bathroom that was very large and included a clawfoot tub. Claire was the employee that we dealt with and she was a joy. She had a very welcoming and pleasant personality.

Everything was perfect. Cleanliness, amenities, comfort of the beds, hot water for the showers, spacious room and bathroom.
I would definitely recommend Homestead Hilsborough guest house!
