"Every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be upgraded and our room was beautiful with a view over the river. It was quiet and comfortable and I loved the window seat in the bay window. The bathroom was enormous and boasted both bath and walk in shower. Unfortunately the basin taps were very difficult to turn off and trickled overnight but we were assured that this would be looked at and received sincere apologies for the inconvenience. We enjoyed a full and plentiful breakfast with bottomless tea and coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed a little longer"

"Lovely cottage, clean and well presented. Location is very rural, despite being only seven miles from Canterbury. Great for days out in Canterbury, White Cliffs of Dover and more. Excellent farm shop two miles away for all your food and household needs. Not much garden at all, however there is a bench table ideally placed for all day sunshine and an area covered by overhanging side roof which is lovely for sitting outside in more inclement weather. Excellent countryside walking from the house. All bedrooms were a very good size.Minor negatives… The beds were all standard doubles, whereas most properties we rent these days have Queen or King beds in at least one room. Some of the furniture and crockery was starting to look a little tired.Owners were fantastic, very helpful, extremely quick to respond to questions."

"We booked the Lily Room at the Blue Pigeon for our wedding anniversary, hoping for a quiet, restorative escape after a demanding few months. Unfortunately, the stay didn't quite deliver on that promise — though it wasn't without its highlights. Arrival set an unexpected tone. We walked into what appeared to be a large, lively bottomless brunch gathering — very much a party atmosphere — and could barely hear the receptionist over the noise. For guests seeking a peaceful retreat, this was quite a jolt, and felt at odds with how the hotel presents itself. The room itself was genuinely lovely. Beautifully decorated, well-furnished, and thoughtfully put together with real attention to detail — exactly what you'd hope for at this price point, and credit where it's due. Sadly, sleep was impossible. The church directly opposite chimes on the hour, every hour, throughout the night — something we weren't forewarned about. The room also ran very hot despite no radiators being on, and opening the window only amplified the bells. By morning, having had no sleep whatsoever, we missed breakfast entirely so can’t comment on that. The Blue Pigeon clearly has the bones of something special, shows real care in its design. But the overall experience felt confused — the branding suggests a calm, boutique bolthole, while the reality on our visit was quite different. A little more consistency between the two, would consider returning! "

"A wonderful stay for our family at Christmas. The house was well decorated, super festive and had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook the Christmas dinner. The games room and hot tub were such good additions and well enjoyed. It was great to have walking routes directly from the house and loved exploring the area. We will definitely consider the house again for any future family gatherings."

"Moat Farm House was fantastic for our three generation family Christmas. The house is full of character and very well equipped. The location is perfect with just a few minutes walk to the village where we went for Christmas carols at the church. Everyone enjoyed our stay and the younger grandkids were quite upset when we left and asked if we could go again, I would highly recommend this house for family get togethers."
