I wanted to share my experience at the wonderful Afrique Boutique Hotel we stayed at during the recent electricity outages. The room had a partial view of a beautiful garden where birds would come to feed and hearing them sing made our stay even more peaceful. As a woman traveling alone my top priority is always safety. This was my first trip to South Africa and i was a bit nervous. Arthur promptly picked me up from the airport and I felt safe. I just needed a place to get a hot shower, some good sleep, and a hot meal. It was a quick overnight stop for me in between flights. I could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend, especially if you are a solo traveler with safety concerns.

This is a very nice hotel. Our travel itinerary had us flying into the Johannesburg airport late afternoon and flying out the next day, so we booked this because it looked close to the airport. It is actually attached to the airport, above the parking lot, with a fully enclosed walkway from baggage claim to the hotel. (Grab a luggage cart, it is a long walk.) The hotel is surprisingly nice! Lovely hotel in a nice neighborhood in Johannesburg. Staff was lovely and the roof top bar was the perfect place to unwind after a day of touring. Would definitely stay again!
